Concept

As you step across the threshold you'll discover your bed, sprinkled with rose petals. In its determination to create a different world, the Five Hotel has used one of the most noble of Asian arts: lacquer.

You will recognize the art of Isabel Emmerique in all the rooms of the Five Hotel. Isabel has been working with Chinese lacquer for 30 years; she is very well known abroad and is the only non-Asian artist to have won the Kanasawa Triennale prize in Japan. Thanks to her ultramodern works you can rediscover the Chinese lacquer approach… elsewhere and differently.
